Operations Manager
About the role
DK Security is Michigan’s fastest-growing security company, established in 1995. We provide leadership and management for contract and temporary security contracts in an assigned region. This role is ideal for someone with supervisory experience who enjoys a flexible schedule, some travel, and fieldwork. Operations Managers report directly to the Director of Operations and oversee Site Supervisors and Security Officers.
Responsibilities
- Oversee relationships between client contacts and assigned assistant operations managers.
- Ensure Supervisors complete the required number of site visits and outfit employees appropriately.
- Maintain positive relationships between Supervisors and employees.
- Complete performance-based written appraisals and implement progressive disciplinary actions.
- Work in a billable capacity and maintain employee training compliance.
- Coordinate with Human Resources to recruit and deploy high-quality staff.
- Oversee all temporary assignments in the designated region.
- Manage overtime, payroll, site visits, and staff meetings.
- Maintain on-site incident reports, site equipment, and uniforms.
- Be available on-call for subordinate communications.
- Support business development initiatives and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions for criminal/sexual conduct, theft, assault, or crimes of moral turpitude.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or Security Management is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a security manager or above in government or corporate service.
- Must possess (or be willing to obtain) a Concealed Pistols License (CPL).
- Impeccable grooming and above-average customer service skills.
- Friendly, positive, and professional image for clients, employees, and the public.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- High School Diploma or GED required; LEOSA credential preferred.
Supervisory experience in the security industry is highly preferred. Internal candidates with active disciplinary actions will not be considered.
Schedule
1st Shift, Monday–Friday (shift times may vary to fit business needs). Full-time, 40+ hours per week.
Pay
Starting salary of $47,000, including site pay for billable coverage beyond normal working hours (8:30 AM to 5 PM).
