Operations Manager
About the role
DK Security is Michigan’s fastest-growing security company, established in 1995. We began as an investigations firm and expanded to provide uniform security, event staff security, loss prevention services, and more. This role offers the opportunity to grow, develop, and work as part of a team in a professional setting while serving a critical purpose.
Operations Managers provide leadership and management for our contract and temporary security contracts in an assigned region. This position is ideal for someone with supervisory experience who enjoys a flexible schedule, some light travel, and fieldwork. A Concealed Pistols License (CPL) is required, as some positions are armed.
Responsibilities
- Oversee relationships between client contacts and assigned assistant operations managers.
- Ensure Supervisors complete the required number of site visits and maintain positive relationships with employees.
- Ensure timely and appropriate outfitting of all employees by Supervisors.
- Complete performance-based written appraisals of subordinates based on published Post Orders and implement progressive disciplinary actions for violations.
- Maintain client relations and work in a billable capacity.
- Ensure employee training compliance.
- Coordinate with Human Resources to recruit and deploy a high-quality workforce.
- Oversee all temporary assignments in your designated region.
- Manage overtime, payroll, site visits, and staff meetings.
- Maintain site equipment, uniforms, incident reports, and reporting.
- Be available on-call to receive calls from subordinates.
- Support business development initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be of good moral character with no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions for criminal/sexual conduct, theft, assault, or crimes of moral turpitude.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field (with a concentration in Security Management preferred) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a security manager or above in government or corporate service is highly desirable.
- Must have (or be willing to obtain) a Concealed Pistols License (CPL).
- Must maintain impeccable grooming and present a professional image.
- Excellent customer service, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL) and LEOSA Credential required.
Supervisory experience in the security industry is highly preferred. Internal candidates with active disciplinary actions will not be considered.
Schedule
- 1st Shift, Monday–Friday (shift times may vary to fit business needs).
- 40+ hours per week (full-time).
- Must have flexible availability.
Pay
Starting at $47,000 salaried, including site pay for any billable coverage beyond normal working hours (8:30 AM to 5 PM).
