Operations Manager

Job Summary

The Operations Manager is a member of the site leadership team and has accountability for safety, quality, and productivity of the Operations organization at the Silver Peak site. The position requires a range of management and technical skills and a thorough understanding of plant systems, processes, policies, and procedures.

What You Will Do

• Drives compliance to Albemarle Standards, Environmental regulations, MSHA regulations and HSE policies
• Creates and maintains a respectful and inclusive work environment and maintains Albemarle’s core values
• Develops and leads implementation of the strategic direction for Operations
• Provides leadership and direction for the operating areas including daily production execution to plan
• Provides leadership and guidance for meeting cost, yield and quality requirements
• Drives Operational Discipline and Manufacturing Excellence
• Led the organization to drive incident investigations to root cause and implement corrective actions utilizing the hierarchy of control
• Counsels and develops direct reports and cultivates an atmosphere of learning and development
• Develops and maintains Operations KPIs to drive data-based decision making and improvements
• Drives continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• 5+ years of leadership experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated influential leadership skills
• Strong facilitation and communication skills
• Experience coaching and developing others
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in teams and with individuals at all levels within an organization

Preferred

• Prior manufacturing experience, including Line Leadership
• Knowledge of Process Safety Management
• Experience with MSHA compliance
• Leverage of Lean Management or Six Sigma Green Belt certification
• Knowledge of HR process, procedures, and policies
