About the role
We're looking for a hands-on problem-solver to join our Operations team at Ally Waste Services. This position doesn't require professional experience but needs someone who enjoys fixing things and is comfortable with computers.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair equipment across our properties (dumpster wheels, property access doors, chute doors, and more)
- Install equipment in the warehouse or out in the field as needed
- Track truck inspections and repairs using our fleet software (Fleetio)
- Perform maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers, including trailer-specific repairs (brakes, electrical, lighting, structural): replace lights on vehicles, check and inspect tires, install and troubleshoot GPS tracking units (Samsara), ensure safety equipment is working properly, test vehicle operations
- Clock in and out for trucks to and from repair shops when needed
- Travel to fleet locations and properties across our markets to perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs
- Assist vendors with property damage repairs, including vehicle accidents and warehouse damage
- Support special projects and installations across our markets (like MRFi and Green Bag programs)
Requirements
- You enjoy hands-on work - maybe you fix things around the house, on vehicles, work on DIY projects, or just like figuring out how things work
- You're comfortable with computers - you'll use email, enter data into our systems (including Fleetio, our fleet software), and learn new tools as needed (we'll train you)
- You pay attention to details and take pride in doing things right
- You're a self-starter who can work independently
- You have a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
- High School Diploma or GED
- You're able to pass a DOT medical certification exam and a pre-employment drug screening

Pay

Schedule
Hours will vary based on project needs and may include evenings and weekends.
