Operations Lead - ES
About the role
The Operations Lead is a hands-on role, working alongside the team and cross-functional teams, leading daily field operations for environmental services projects. The Operations Lead oversees crews, coordinates resources, and drives operational performance while maintaining strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and direct daily work activities to ensure safe, compliant and efficient waste handling operations.
- Support operations leaders by coordinating crews, equipment, materials and schedules to meet operational goals.
- Promote and enforce safety procedures, provide operational training, and escalate performance feedback as appropriate.
- Oversee inventory compliance, supplies, and coordination with vendors, transporters, and treatment facilities.
- Ensure proper housekeeping, storage, and handling of waste, chemicals, and processing areas.
- Direct material receipt and off-loading operations into facility storage and waste processing systems.
- Ensure safe and effective waste treatment, including sampling, analysis, treatment simulations, and post-treatment verification.
- Make operational decisions consistent with waste profile data and facility operating permits, including batch clearance approvals for filtering of effluent.
- Review, complete, and sign required documentation, including RCRA manifests and related regulatory records.
- Collaborate with facility team of any maintenance requirements for transportation equipment.
- Participate in emergency response activities and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of environmental operations, waste handling/processing, recycling techniques and safety/regulatory standards.
- Strong operational judgement, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of receiving, purchasing, work orders, special licenses, and DOT training.
- Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail.
- Must be able to prioritize, stay focused and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 - 4 years of related field or operational experience.
- A valid driver’s license with an MVR that complies with company standards.
