Operations Lead - Construction Materials Testing

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations for our third-party testing and inspection firm
• Manage day-to-day activities across multiple service lines, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery
• Schedule and coordinate technician assignments with appropriate training and certification requirements
• Verify accuracy of billing, review invoices, and support financial tracking for ongoing projects
• Lead staffing efforts including hiring, onboarding, performance management, employee health and safety oversight, and terminations when necessary
• Drive client satisfaction and retention through proactive relationship management, issue resolution, and consistent, high-value communication
• Aid in preparing proposals and cost estimates for future projects and new business opportunities
• Attend and contribute to monthly and quarterly budget meetings, supporting financial planning and operational forecasting
• Maintain laboratory accreditation and ensure all personnel certifications remain current and compliant with industry standards
• Provide training, mentorship, and technical guidance to staff to support professional growth and maintain competency
• Monitor and manage inventory needs for testing and inspection equipment, ensuring availability and compliance with calibration requirements

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, with 3 years in inspection and materials testing
• 3 years in Management
• Appropriate construction materials testing and inspection certifications (ACI, ICC, NICET, etc.)
• OSHA 10 certification required
• Proven experience in office administration, coordination, or operations support
• Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Basic understanding of safety practices, OSHA principles, and field compliance requirements
• Comfortable attending and leading team, safety, and client meetings
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• General computer skills such as: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• General understanding of construction

• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Wyoming, and surrounding areas
