About the role
The Polaris Operations Internship is a 12-week paid program designed for emerging juniors and seniors interested in pursuing a career in the global powersports industry. As an Operations Intern, you’ll tackle impactful project-based assignments—both large-scale and shorter-term—that align with our business objectives. Interns are placed into one specific team based on interest and business need, such as:
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Direct or Indirect Sourcing
- Material Flow & Logistics
- Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Quality, or Supplier Development
- New Product Introduction
- Lean Manufacturing
- Project Management
Primary placement locations include Twin Cities, MN (Medina, Plymouth, Wyoming); Huntsville, AL; and Roseau, MN. Other potential locations are Battle Ground, WA; Fernley, NV; Wilmington, OH; or Vermillion, SD. Responsibilities
- Engage in meaningful project work, including both larger ongoing projects and shorter-scale assignments.
- Participate in mentorship programs, pairing with a DP associate for support throughout the 12 weeks.
- Attend weekly functional and centralized learning sessions to expand your knowledge base.
- Build your professional network through intentional time with peers and leaders.
- Collaborate in the Intern Innovation Challenge, presenting creative solutions to real Polaris problems to executive leadership.
- Join the Early Talent Summit Week, a 3-day immersive event featuring professional development, networking, executive speakers, and team rides on Polaris vehicles.
- Engage in community involvement opportunities.
- Present your internship experience and career aspirations to senior leaders in a final presentation.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field, with an intended graduation date between August 2027 and May 2029.
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to commit to a full 12-week internship (40 hours per week) within one of the following date ranges: May 17 – August 6, 2027, or May 31 – August 20, 2027.
- Willingness and ability to relocate.
- Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) and not require sponsorship for employment now or in the future.
- Reliable transportation for daily commuting to and from the office.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Word).
Qualifications
- Previous internship, co-op experience, or involvement in relevant projects.
- Study abroad or international internship experience.
- Coursework or experience in business strategy, finance, or operations.
- Demonstrated strengths in analysis, creative problem-solving, communication, interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership.
- Exposure to data analytics tools or programming languages.
- Participation in case competitions, business simulations, or entrepreneurial ventures.
Benefits
- Relocation assistance for qualifying interns (home address 35+ miles from the office), including a lump-sum payment (grossed up to offset tax liability) and access to a relocation counselor for short-term housing support.
Pay
The starting pay range for Minnesota and Washington is $21.50 to $29.25 per hour, plus eligibility for overtime. Individual pay is determined by factors such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
