Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the Operations & Engineering department, including line crews, engineering staff, and warehouse operations.
- Plan and oversee the construction, operation, maintenance, and reliability of the Cooperative’s electric distribution system.
- Develop and implement long-range system planning, construction work plans, and engineering projects.
- Promote and champion a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with OSHA, NESC, RUS, and Cooperative safety standards.
- Manage departmental budgets, work plans, resources, and project schedules.
- Oversee warehouse operations, inventory management, purchasing, and vendor relationships.
- Cook up contractors, consultants, and member service projects.
- Resolve member service issues and maintain positive relationships with members, vendors, and community partners.
- Provide leadership in employee development, coaching, performance management, and departmental planning.
Qualifications
- Achieve an Associate degree and obtain a Journeyman Lineman Certificate (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
- Display at least 15 years of progressive electric utility operations, construction, and maintenance experience.
- Show previous supervisory or leadership experience (3-5 years preferred).
- Show strong knowledge of electric distribution systems, substations, line construction, and utility operations.
- Show working knowledge of NESC, OSHA, regulations, and RUS standards.
- Show excellent leadership, communication, project management, and problem solving skills.
- Show ability to build positive relationships with employees, members, contractors, and vendors.
- Show valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
