Operations Engineer

About the role

The Operational Excellence Engineer supports Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives across manufacturing operations. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify waste, improve process flow, and support data-driven problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Support Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma improvement projects across manufacturing operations.
• Affirm value stream mapping, Kaizen events, root cause analysis (RCA), and SPC activities.
• Document standardized work, support 5S activities, and help maintain visual management systems.
• Analyze production data, identify trends, and assist with corrective and preventive action initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing workflows and reduce waste.
• Provide basic Lean/Six Sigma coaching to production personnel.
• Affirm development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reports that support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 2-4 years Manufacturing operations, CI, or process engineering required.
• Leverage of Lean Six Sigma Green Belt required.
• Leverage of Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
• 1-2 years Lean or Six Sigma project support preferred.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, Standard Work, Kaizen).
• Basic Six Sigma concepts (DMAIC, SPC).
• Data analysis & reporting (Excel, Minitab preferred).
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Understanding of manufacturing systems and workflows.

Pay

The annual pay range for this position is $77,000 - $120,000, which consists of base salary (subject to performance), reflecting the hiring range for candidates. Also note, an individual’s offer may vary from this range as it may be impacted by additional factors, including but not limited to the candidate's hiring location, qualifications, experience, and market factors.

This is an onsite position that needs to sit in Orangeburg, NY.
