What You Will Do
The Product Delivery Center (PDC) Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager will partner with PDC leadership team to ensure EH&S regulatory compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations and adherence to P&W procedures and RTX EH&S Standard Practices. The Operations EH&S Manager reports directly to the Site Environmental Health & Safety Manager.
- Develop, set and drive strategic EH&S initiatives within PDC module center;
- Manage, train and mentor EH&S professional(s) supporting PDC module center;
- Work on cross-functional projects that interface with other groups external to and within the site EH&S team;
- Manage the administration of the PDC EH&S Council, including interfacing with subcommittees, updating performance trends, and tracking EH&S projects to completion;
- Act as the site program manager for health and safety programs such as: Industrial Hygiene, OSHA Recordkeeping, Incident Investigation & Case Management, Site Communications, and other health and safety programs;
- Cook up and conduct specialized health and/or safety audits and inspections of premises and operations in conjunction with others to monitor performance and assist the relevant line management to produce action plans to implement the necessary improvements;
- Conduct trend analysis for inspection/audits, injuries, spills, near hits and develop corrective/preventive actions to improve performance; assist line management with effective investigations and mistake proofing initiatives;
- Provide and ensure EH&S training is conducted, assist as necessary; provide response/guidance as a spill responder on a rotating on-call schedule.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree and 10 or more years of experience in an environmental engineering, occupational safety & health, environmental management, chemistry, chemical engineering or similar environment OR a Master's degree and 7 or more years of experience in an environmental engineering, occupational safety & health, environmental management, chemistry, chemical engineering or similar environment
- Previous EH&S experience developing and implementing industry leading Safety and Health Program
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Prior experience forming, facilitating, and maintaining internal and cross functional teams and relationships
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience working in a union manufacturing environment
- Previous experience coaching, leading, developing and mentoring a team
- Continuous Improvement experience e.g., CORE, Six Sigma, LEAN etc.
- Additional certifications, such as CSP, CIH.P.E. or CHMM
Pay
The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD.
