Operations Development Partner
About the role
The Operations Development Partner plays a key role within the Operations Development Training team, owning the PM Career Development Program, supporting individuals on the project management career path. In partnership with people managers and leaders and through one-on-one connections with PM Team members, this role will focus on enabling growth, reinforcing training, collecting and managing data and ensuring participants have the guidance and resources needed to become effective, confident project managers.
This program is designed to be highly supportive and developmental—not evaluative or punitive—serving as a trusted partner in employees’ learning journey. This role will support employee development while performance evaluations will remain the responsibility of people managers.
Responsibilities
- Own the CEI PM Career Development Program, stewarding project team members in PE or APM roles and those who are new to CEI toward success
- Provide consistent engagement with individuals enrolled in the project management career path
- Identify strengths and opportunities for enhancement of the PM Career Development Program and drive implementation of continuous improvement initiatives
- Discuss current project responsibilities, where they’re strong and where there’s opportunity for support
- Partner with PM leadership and PM individuals to set meaningful, strategically aligned development goals and track progress over time
- Identify gaps in understanding or skill development and guide individuals toward appropriate resources or actions
- Act as a trusted advisor and accountability partner to enable progress and confidence
- Maintain and monitor the effectiveness of internal evaluation and IDP tools
- Collect, evaluate and report development data to OD and PM leadership
- Provide insights, suggestions, and recommendations to managers to enable them to improve the development and engagement of their employees
Requirements
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly
Proven ability to coach, mentor, or guide others in a professional or training environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident and clear communicator
Self-driven and collaborative
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
Experience with tracking, analyzing, and presenting data in a meaningful way
Ability to balance multiple participants and priorities effectively
Ability and willingness to travel to offices and jobsites roughly 6 times per year
Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent, Bachelor’s preferred
Preferred Experience: 5+ years' experience in project management, operations, or program management environments
Familiarity with construction project management methodologies
Experience working in training, learning & development, or talent development programs
