About the role
Jabil is seeking an experienced Operations Development Manager to oversee the development and management of operations at their new site in Byhalia, MS. The role is full-time and onsite.
Responsibilities
- Support acquisition and campus opportunities, collaborating with roles like Materials Manager, Manufacturing Operation Manager, and HR.
- Define, develop, and implement an Operational Development strategy that aligns with campus strategic goals.
- Aid in recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of Operational Development staff.
- Create and manage succession plans for the Operational Development function.
- Deliver weekly communication updates within the department.
- Drive the campus strategic directions.
- Support the workcell business strategy related to Operational Development.
- Provide regular updates to the Business Unit on strategy execution.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures by streamlining processes and systems.
- Utilize tools to monitor departmental costs and trends, aiming to continuously improve value.
- Provide feedback to peers on cost and trend data.
- Prepare timely forecasts for the department and compare them to historical actual results for trend assessment and analysis.
- Assist with and develop succession plans for Managers and keep access open to plans.
- Show expertise in the field and demonstrate knowledge of Jabil functions like Purchasing and Planning.
- Use and analyze the Due Diligence process to assess campus opportunities and report findings.
- Support functional teams and conduct gap analyses to identify areas for improvement.
- Recruit, coach, and "Jabilize" Functional Managers.
- Work with Functional Managers to recruit, train, and fulfill start-up plans.
- Build effective relationships with Functional Managers across the region.
- Lead by example, adhering to safety and health rules and regulations.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or equivalent education and training.
- Experience: 6 to 8 years of relevant industrial experience, including at least 4 years in a supervisory or management role within an Operational Development department.
Qualifications
- Advanced PC skills, including proficiency with Jabil’s software packages in an integrated system.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Strong writing and presentation skills, able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, including the ability to apply mathematical concepts and interpret data.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact with various levels of management and clients.
- Knowledge of safety and health regulations and compliance with company security policies.
