Operations Crew (PT)

About the role

Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E) seeks a Building Operations Crew – Part Time team member to support event setup and maintenance at the arena. This role involves assisting full-time staff with various tasks during NBA games, concerts, and other events.

Responsibilities

• Aid in arena setups for NBA games, concerts, and other events, including locker room setups, court build & maintenance, stage builds, concourse setups, chair sets, curtain setups, and more.
• Assist in changing arena set ups between events, moving chairs and tables, installing rails, working on seating units, and re-organizing the building from the prior event.
• Support the head rigger and rigging assistant with duties such as curtains, courtyard stage, and other event-related tasks.
• Supervise contracted labor staff, assign duties, and train them in proper techniques.
• Support other departments like Event Services and Housekeeping in event preparation and execution.
• Review setups and checklists to ensure completion before the building is opened to the public.
• Help keep track of equipment inventory and store arena equipment in a clean and organized manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Flexible schedule including overnights, evenings, weekends, holidays, and long hours.
• Ability to work well in a team environment with a crew of full-time and other part-time employees.
• Strong teamwork and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to balance multiple tasks and adapt to change.
• Maintain a high degree of attention to prevent injury to others.
• Professional demeanor and discipline to create a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50-75lbs.
• Physical stamina to navigate through the facility, including getting in and around the facility, lifting, carrying, moving, climbing, and standing for long periods.
• Ability to work in a noisy environment.
