About the role

The Operations Coordinator is responsible for dispatching units to pick up and deliver freight, monitoring drivers' performance, and ensuring customer timelines are adhered to.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate reporting.
  • Ability to co-ordinate road repairs and service of fleet.
  • Organized filing and numerous clerical duties depending on shift.
  • Must be resourceful using the internet and company intranet to maintain company standards.
  • Must be a team player willing to participate in and support all aspects of the operation.
  • Punctual and presentable as you will be the front line in dealing with customers.
  • Must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal. Capable of using 10-4 phones along with office phones to communicate with drivers.
  • Ensure on-time delivery to customers.
  • Scheduling driver’s pick-ups and deliveries.
  • Uploading and setting up of scanners.
  • Maintain communication with PDC Supervisor for status reports on correct loading by unit and timely departures.
  • Ensure driver concerns reported to dispatch are responded to and closed off within reasonable or expected timelines.
  • Arrange daily deliveries, assign pick-up requests, and enter orders in the computer.
  • Do a dock and yard check, ensure freight is not missed, and trucks are on schedule.
  • Perform Yard consolidations, including checking what is in the trailers.

Requirements

  • Transportation background in dispatch, dock supervision, or similar.
  • Computer literate in Excel and Word MS products, TMS Systems, web-based programs are beneficial.
  • Demonstrated customer relationship skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.

Pay

$21 - $25/hr, possibly higher for excellent experience

Schedule

Night Shift - Sunday - Wednesday, 8 PM - 6 AM
