Operations Coordinator II (Senior Shift Supervisor)

About the role

Under the general direction of the Program Director or Operations Coordinator I, the Operations Coordinator II (Senior Shift Supervisor) monitors the shelter environment and specific program systems to ensure security, efficiency, and safety on assigned shifts. Responsibilities include enforcing the treatment services schedule, ensuring all activities and client appointments are dispatched as scheduled, and serving as lead to Shift Supervisors as needed.

Note: Candidates must possess an FDNY F-80 Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor the facility to ensure cleanliness, security, and safety practices are enacted and effective.
• Oversee the therapeutic environment to ensure behavioral guidelines are followed, a therapeutic milieu is maintained, and interpersonal relationships remain positive.
• Conduct fire and safety runs throughout the facility, ensuring all health and safety guidelines are adhered to.
• Review the selection of client escorts for appointments to ensure appropriateness.
• Review internal and external client appointments scheduled for the shift and ensure attendance.
• Participate in required training and obtain certifications including CPR/First Aid, Food Handler, and F-80 Certification.
• Ensure familiarity with the daily program schedule of activities to guarantee events occur on time and all scheduled parties attend.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of prior experience in a Shift Supervisor or House Manager role in a shelter, transitional, or permanent supportive housing.
• Experience working with the NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS) or other similar city-operated organization; previous management experience strongly preferred.
• FDNY F-80 Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems (required).
• Willingness to obtain CPR Certification while employed at Samaritan Daytop Village.
• Willingness to obtain NYC Food Handler’s Certificate while employed at Samaritan Daytop Village for designated single sites and as needed by the program.
• Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Pay

$34.97 per hour
