About the role

70% travel, supporting our Greater Austin and Houston Gulf Coast market. The Operations Consultant II manages a portfolio of clinically integrated multi-specialty practices and is accountable for driving overall performance results.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and own a portfolio of independent physician practices across a multi-specialty medical group
  • Drive growth and improvement to portfolio of physician practices
  • Develop growth plans and manage client relationships to meet care center and market goals
  • Draft and implement action plans to improve and grow physician practices’ overall revenue
  • Create transparency with practices about their financial performance (or lack thereof), in order to drive change
  • Track and manage metrics and goals related to finance, revenue cycle, productivity, clinical performance, and customer experience
  • Re-engineer the practice workflow to streamline patient throughput and efficiency and/or create efficiency in back office workflows
  • Mentor and coach practice administrators in the management of their physician practice
  • Facilitate the transition of the physician practice from Fee-For-Service to the future Value Based Care world of healthcare reimbursement
  • Roll out and communicate new Privia initiatives
  • Provide constructive criticism and strategic recommendations to physician practices
  • Present relevant healthcare topics effectively
  • Become an expert in AthenaHealth’s Performance Management System and EHR
  • Provide top-notch customer service to physician practices to ensure issues are resolved and clients are satisfied
  • Ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with applicable accreditation, statutory, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide oversight, coaching, and mentoring to assigned performance associates
  • Travel throughout assigned territory on a regular basis (70%)
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Healthcare Master’s or MBA highly preferred
  • 5+ years of healthcare experience required, particularly working with physicians and medical group staff
  • Experience working with a health system preferred
  • Quantitatively and financially proficient; must know how to read, interpret, and explain financial data
  • Comfort in functioning independently and autonomously; ability to build a case to effect change
  • Demonstrates judgment to appropriately escalate situations as necessary
  • Project management experience, juggling multiple projects and urgent deliverables while providing exceptional client service
  • General understanding of Population Health Management and how it applies to risk-based contracts
  • Must have access to reliable transportation
  • Must comply with HIPAA rules and regulations

  • Extremely bright and analytical; turns the unknown into knowledge quickly
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with providers, management, clients, and staff to gain buy-in

  • Responds calmly and maturely in high-pressure situations
  • Positive attitude toward company, work, clients, management, and team members
  • Uses a customer-focused approach in dealing with conflict and problem resolution

Pay

The salary range for this role is $105,000 to $115,000 in base pay, exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus targeted at 15% and restricted stock units. The base pay offered will be determined based on relevant factors such as experience, education, and geographic location.

Technical Requirements

For remote work, a minimum internet speed of 5 MBPS download and 3 MBPS upload is required. Employees working remotely are eligible for expense reimbursement to offset this cost.
