About the Role
The Operational Client Relationship Management (OCRM) team manages operational relationships with Nomura's priority client base. This new team connects clients with organizational capabilities while providing a consistent approach to engagement and service. OCRM delivers value-added services in response to market and regulatory changes by partnering with key clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Sales, SRM (Senior Relationship Manager), Front Office Client Account Management, Operations, and other corporate functions to facilitate client relationships
- Maintain regular communication with clients to support a best-in-class client service experience
- Coordinate across corporate functions to ensure clients' needs are met
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and the regulatory environment, including their impact on clients, with a willingness to develop deeper expertise
- Perform daily monitoring across the pre and post trade lifecycle to proactively resolve issues for key clients
- Prepare high-quality client materials for meetings and in response to client requests
- Summarize periodic client metrics collaborating with the Business Transformation function to deliver MI requested by clients
- Lead discussions and projects by organizing meetings, partnering with key stakeholders and influencing the delivery of initiatives, technology strategy and internal behavioral change to enhance client service
- Develop a strong understanding of vendor solutions and market capabilities relevant to operational service delivery
- Support clients seeking to understand how technology and AI tools can be applied within post-trade operations
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of financial service products and associated processes
- Understanding of post-trade operations, settlement processes and reconciliation procedures
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks
- Client query management and troubleshooting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Genuine interest in developing a thorough understanding of the business and Nomura's clients, with a proactive approach to work
- Attention to detail and ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
- Understanding of risk and control frameworks, with the ability to escalate effectively
- Confidence in engaging with internal and external clients, articulating key messages across all communication channels and escalating potential risks in a timely manner
- Ability to build and influence relationships across cross-functional and cross-regional teams
- Strong time management and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to anticipate problems, potential risks and propose solutions
- Core understanding of technology and AI, including how these tools can be used to improve operational processes and client service outcomes
- Minimum of three years' experience within financial services, ideally within operations, post-trade services, or client relationship management functions
