Operations Associate - Overnight

About the role

This position supports multiple operational areas during the overnight shift, including Housekeeping, Engineering, and Security.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of public areas, including the lobby.
  • Operate laundry services.
  • Perform routine property inspections.
  • Address basic maintenance needs.
  • Conduct security rounds to ensure the safety and security of guests, team members, and the property.
  • Patrol the interior and exterior perimeter of the hotel to identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions.
  • Maintain order in the hotel, including handling guests or visitors displaying undesirable conduct in a calm, rational, and persuasive manner.
  • Coordinate expedient response to emergency conditions such as fire, safety hazards, and threats to life.
  • Understand and train night shift staff on the emergency preparedness plan.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders for tasks such as replacing light bulbs, door locks, tiles, plunging toilets, and unclogging sinks.
  • Check electrical systems, including air conditioning controls, television sets, and lighting systems.
  • Assist with assembly and repair of furniture and other items.
  • Stock hotel supply closets with linens, amenities, and guest supplies.
  • Assist room attendants with needed supplies for their carts.
  • Strip rooms and transport soiled linen to laundry and trash to appropriate locations.
  • Clean and remove spots from walls and doors.
  • Clean, vacuum, sweep, or mop stairwells, vending areas, and foyers.
  • Assist the Food & Beverage team with set-up or delivery of food, coffee, and other items as needed.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Hotel Security, Housekeeping, or Engineering.
  • Ability to obtain Unarmed AZ Department of Public Safety Security Guard certification.
  • Ability to obtain CPR and AED certification.
  • Ability to obtain Food Handler & TIPS certifications.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to de-escalate conflict and handle difficult people.
  • Computer and keyboarding skills with familiarity with MS Outlook and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Integrity—ability to act within ethical and legal boundaries, avoiding misuse of authority.
