Operations Associate II
This is a full-time onsite role requiring consistent, in-person collaboration. Work will be conducted at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time. The position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which determines wages and benefits.
Pay
- Union pay rate: $23.00/hour with a $1.00/hour raise after the first 6 months of employment
- Night shift differential: $1.10/hour for work performed on 2nd and 3rd shifts
Schedule
- Must be able to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift at any time
- Shifts are subject to change based on seniority

Position Criteria
- Hourly non-exempt position
- Represented by a labor union and subject to the collective bargaining agreement
- Work schedules subject to change at any time
- Must successfully complete a background investigation and drug screening (FAA regulations)
- Subject to random drug testing during employment (FAA regulations)
- May involve long periods of standing, sitting, using a microscope, and soldering iron
Responsibilities
- Follow detailed written instructions, procedures, and documentation
- Use a microscope to perform assembly procedures and inspections
- Use soldering equipment for detailed hand soldering and assemblies
- Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination (e.g., handling small objects, assembling/rewiring components, troubleshooting finished products)
- Follow verbal instructions, maintain a positive attitude, and demonstrate willingness to learn
- Read and use a ruler, gauges, and fixtures
- Use and identify a variety of hand tools
Working Conditions
- May require extended periods of standing and/or sitting and repetitive motion
- May work with and around hazardous chemicals (e.g., conformal coats, paint, bonding material)
- Appropriate PPE must be worn where posted and required
Requirements
- 1+ years of previous work experience in a manufacturing production/assembly environment
- Ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift
- Proficient in basic computer skills and Microsoft Windows
- Ability to pass a visual acuity or correctable vision, color vision exam
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Soldering experience, preferably J-STD-001
- Previous experience manufacturing/assembly of electronics components
- Experience in a work environment requiring meeting quality and/or productivity standards
- 1+ year experience reading technical documents
