Operations Associate
Responsibilities
- Make outbound status calls to carriers and transfer companies to obtain updates on the status of funds for new business cases.
- Clearly communicate next steps to external partners and internal stakeholders based on the status of transfers.
- Document all call outcomes accurately and efficiently in the required systems, ensuring data integrity and completeness.
- Navigate multiple administrative and operational systems while following established procedures and job aids.
- Follow up on outstanding information and request missing items as needed to move cases forward promptly.
- Proactively identify and communicate issues, trends, or opportunities for improvement to management.
- Participate in team-based problem solving and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Engage in cross-training to build broader operational knowledge and support team flexibility.
- Adapt to workflow changes and shifting priorities while maintaining steady productivity.
- Manage time effectively to meet daily metrics for quality, accuracy, and volume of work.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of work experience.
- Experience in financial services or annuities preferred.
- Ability to work independently, stay focused, and consistently meet daily metrics in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to navigate multiple administrative systems.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain processes to external and internal partners.
- Strong interpersonal skills and comfort collaborating with management and peers.
- Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to learn new tasks and processes.
- Proficiency in data entry with a high degree of accuracy.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
- Commitment to maintaining data integrity in all operational activities.
Qualifications
- College degree preferred.
- Military experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
- Background or interest in finance, insurance, or related operational functions.
- Experience working with multiple systems and following structured procedures and job aids.
- Comfort participating in process improvement efforts and team problem-solving discussions.
- Ability to identify and escalate issues appropriately to ensure timely resolution.
Work Environment
Work is performed onsite at a corporate office location in West Des Moines. The role currently requires working on site, with potential consideration for a hybrid schedule of four days in the office and one day working from home, subject to ongoing discussions. The environment is fast-paced and metrics-driven, with a focus on productivity, quality, and accuracy. Team members use multiple administrative and operational systems, including Microsoft Excel and other internal platforms, and collaborate regularly with peers and management in a professional office setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
