Operations Assistant
About the role
As an Operations Assistant, you will…
assists supervisor and/or assistant supervisor in the implementation of daily objectives and effectively communicates expectations to associates to achieve departmental goals.
Responsibilities
- Train and develop hourly staff in assigned area
- Operate as a back-up to assistant supervisor to ensure orderly operation of the DCCo
- Co-ordinate work assignments as directed
- Maintain the highest performance, housekeeping and safety standards
- Develop and recommend operational improvements where appropriate and assist with implementation upon approval
- Work within WMS/PKMS IT systems to monitor workflow and generate reports
- Assist in directing hourly associates, monitoring work methods and recommend retraining and/or disciplinary action
- The ability to multi-task and work in a constant state of alertness
- Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor for the effective operation of the facility
Requirements
- 1-3 years distribution or relevant supervisory experience with a 2-year degree
- Or 5 years demonstrated supervisor/leadership experience, preferably in a distribution environment with a high school diploma or equivalent required
Qualifications
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to assist fellow associates
Skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Proficiency in WMS/PKMS IT systems
