Responsibilities
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow
- Builds strong and effective working relationships between outbound operations and other company departments
- Maintains a high-quality work environment to motivate team members
- Works with supervisors and team leads to resolve employee issues and promote teamwork
- Partners with Human Resources to improve organizational effectiveness and address employee concerns
- Coordinates with other distribution center managers to ensure coordination of functions such as production, inventory management, and quality assurance
- Identifies employees' skills and develops them through regular coaching and counseling
- Conducts annual performance reviews and provides feedback on performance
- Analyzes staffing and payroll to achieve departmental goals
- Analyzes and reports on all outbound productivity metrics
- Develops and applies management reports and other statistical data to improve operational processes, increase efficiency, and improve customer satisfaction
- Works various shifts to support the changing needs of the business
Requirements
- One to three years of related experience and/or training in the field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proven leadership experience
- Able to work independently and lead diverse teams within the warehouse
- Able to develop and motivate teams
- Able to provide vision and direction
- Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret written instructions and present information and respond to questions from various levels of management
- Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Able to utilize spreadsheets and PC software to analyze, develop, and report key performance indicators for the department
- Knowledge and use of WMS and Radio Frequency Guns at a managerial level
