Operations and Events Coordinator

About the role

The Operations & Events Coordinator serves as the primary manager and overseer of school-wide events and functions, collaborating with the Operations team and external vendors. They also support the physical spaces of the Batten School.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact with UVA venue, catering, and event services partners.
• Oversee the event request submission and tracking process, and respond to internal service tickets related to events and operations.
• Develop systems and processes for event management, including ongoing and prospective events.
• Attend meetings for ongoing and prospective events, arrange, manage, and maintain relevant relationships.
• Analyze short-term and long-term resource needs, adjust staffing and resources, and ensure completion of deliverables and adherence to timelines.
• Collaboratively support facilities planning and execution, analyze and resolve issues, and proactively identify changes in scope.
• Ensure events are equipped with necessary contingency and emergency supplies, engage in communication and change management, and manage event logistics.
• Support physical spaces of the Batten School.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelors Degree required.
• Experience: 3+ years of relevant professional experience required.

• Customer-service orientation and high level of personal tact and diplomacy.
