The position is listed on behalf of a partner company who manages all applications and next steps. They are seeking an Operations Analyst/ SME based in the United States. This part-time, remote role supports mission-critical programs involving military Command and Control (C2) processes and systems.
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer requirements and translate operational needs into clear, actionable inputs for software and solution development.
- Apply subject matter expertise in military C2 processes to support multiple projects and functional areas.
- Collaborate with software engineers and technical teams to inform functionality, workflows, and user interface design.
- Participate in software functionality testing, formal testing activities, and evaluation of solutions within the air operations domain.
- Provide operational and exercise support across areas such as Combat Plans, Combat Operations, Strategy, and Operational Assessment.
- Lead and deliver training events for military and technical personnel, ensuring users can effectively apply new capabilities.
- Work on requirements collection and analysis, as well as the review or development of CONOPS, CONEMP, and TTP documentation.
- Communicate operational requirements, technical concepts, findings, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Travel approximately 25–30% as needed, including periodic international travel in support of customer engagements and military training events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of experience in military Command and Control (C2); up to 8 additional years of relevant experience, training, and/or certifications may substitute for the degree.
- Current or recent experience within a Combat Plans Division (CPD), Combat Operations Division (COD), Strategy Division (SRD), or Operational Assessment Team (OAT) supporting a Theater Air Operations Center (AOC) or Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC).
- Active Secret Department of Defense security clearance and U.S. citizenship required to support the government contract.
- Passport and ability to undertake periodic international travel.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply expertise across new functional areas and operational environments.
- Strong understanding of military C2 processes, systems, workflows, and operational requirements.
- Ability to provide exercise support and operational expertise during military training events.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with military personnel, software engineers, technical teams, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead training sessions for military and technical audiences.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, organized, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced agile environment.
- Familiarity with C2 platforms such as MAAPTK, C2CORE, TBMCS, GCCS, GDSS, MIDB, JRE, and MAVEN is preferred.
- Experience working with USMTF-formatted requests in joint environments involving the USA, USN, and USMC, including systems such as AFATDS, AMDWS, and TAIS, is preferred.
- Experience supporting coalition operations in combined environments such as USAFE, PACAF, or AFCENT is a plus.
- Experience with formal software testing, requirements analysis, and the creation or review of CONOPS, CONEMP, and TTPs is desirable.
