Responsible for performing clerical and administrative functions for hub and station operational areas, including linehaul, records management, quality assurance, and customer service. Handles damaged and incorrectly addressed packages to optimize delivery time and serves as the first line of contact for customer issues.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Provides clerical support to management and operational functions, including photocopying, filing, faxing, emailing, and answering telephones.
- Reviews, researches, and enters data in various systems to support respective functional areas.
- Compiles data and provides regular and ad-hoc reports to management.
- Serves as frontline customer service to receive, solve, or escalate customer inquiries and issues.
- Assists management with Business Control Self Assessment (BCSA) audit activity by retrieving data and files for review.
- Performs records management tasks such as maintenance, destruction, and inventory.
Quality Assurance/Loss Prevention
- Supports timely delivery and mitigates loss/damage by performing address searches/corrections and ensuring packages are in good condition.
- Prioritizes workflow to maximize same-day package resolution and delivery.
- Ensures all packages receive appropriate scan statuses.
- Inspects and handles hazardous material damages per policy.
- Ensures all loose product is accounted for per company policy.
- Researches missing packages to identify root causes of scanning failures.
- Compiles information on disputed deliveries and trends loss/damage claims to identify improperly charged claims.
Linehaul
- Reviews and enters Independent Contractor (IC) settlement information into systems to ensure proper payments.
- Enters settlement adjustments as directed by management.
- Compiles documentation to establish and maintain Department of Transportation (DOT)-required files.
- Verifies timely log entry into the system.
- Enters vehicle mileage records and works with ICs and Linehaul staff to resolve issues.
- Tracks metrics, including IC charge-back programs, complaints, and maintenance compliance, and prepares weekly reports.
- Serves as initial contact for IC inquiries regarding settlements, uniforms, decals, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Four (4) years of customer service, clerical, or related experience; dock operations or distribution center experience preferred.
Skills
- General business skills: typing, data entry, phone, copier, and fax use.
- Software skills: Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
- Customer service skills for professional and effective responses.
- Time management, organizational, and multitasking skills for fast-paced environments.
Job Conditions
- Minimal travel required.
Pay
$17.63/hr - $27.34/hr based on experience.
Schedule
Part-time, AM hours.
