Operational Management Lead, Ford Energy

About the role

Ford Energy is a newly formed, wholly-owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company dedicated to accelerating U.S. energy independence. Leveraging Ford’s century of manufacturing excellence and world-class battery energy storage systems (BESS) technology, Ford Energy designs, manufactures, and services grid-scale and commercial DC battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Responsibilities

  • Complete manufacturing and design for manufacturing feasibility assessments.
  • Lead process to complete cost studies to support capacity, supply, or design change requests.
  • Lead change control process for KY site working cross functionally with Ford Energy teams.
  • Complete business case studies for vertical integration / supplier localization.
  • Interface with CATL for cost, feasibility for manufacturing impact.
  • Monitor, track, and report BME and Operations headcount to ensure performance to budget and proper people planning.
  • Lead the customer care process at KY.
  • Manage and coordinate schedule of all customer care related visits.
  • Work with Ford Energy business units to schedule, plan, and deliver customer and potential customer visits.
  • Manage and coordinate open houses for EPC’s and others at KY.
  • Manage and coordinate customer onsite test and FAT visits.
  • Support plant operations team to deliver operating objectives (SQDCPME).
  • Perform supervisory duties (objectives, partnership discussions, check-ins, performance reviews, travel requests, timecard approvals, compensation planning) for all personnel assigned.
  • Lead, mentor, coach, counsel, recognize and motivate employees, as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing, product, or program management experience.

Qualifications

  • 10% Travel may be required between Dearborn and Kentucky.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills required.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of leadership and across organizations.

Pay

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $115,500-$218,100. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
