Operational Flow Support Technician (M/F/D)*

About the role

The Operational Flow Support Technician acts as the key customer contact for technical support queries regarding the overall automated logistics solution and the Warehouse Control System (WCS).

Responsibilities

• Provide professional first-line software support for WCS systems, including capturing log files and database backups for further investigation.
• Maintain trends and action plans to prevent issue escalation in WCS systems, hardware, and infrastructure.
• Communicate effectively with senior management, customer contacts, and support colleagues, ensuring issues are followed through until resolution.
• Escalate problems to the next support level when required and manage the problem until resolution.
• Drive continuous improvement by addressing ongoing technical issues, reducing call volumes, and maintaining site-specific documentation.
• Support WCS releases and change requests, monitor hardware for upgrades, and deliver training to colleagues.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED.
• An associate degree or Technical Certificate preferred.
• Previous experience monitoring IT systems and providing application / database support.
• A thorough understanding of Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) in material handling and automation environments.
• The ability to deal directly with end users and translate technical issues into general terms.
• Experience performing log file investigation and/or software debugging.
• A basic understanding of the software development lifecycle.
