Operational Finance Director

Amca · El Segundo, CA · 1 wk ago
Finance$150k–$250k/yrFull-time

Overview

Our Operational Finance Director is a high-horsepower, systems-oriented leader who will architect and operationalize Amca’s annual planning and performance management infrastructure across a rapidly expanding network of factories.

Responsibilities

  • You will own the development of Amca’s annual financial plan across our HQ and factories – building granular, zero-based budgets tied directly to key value drivers including new products introduction and operational improvements
  • You will partner directly with general managers and business leaders to pressure-test assumptions, identify opportunities, and translate strategy into measurable financial targets
  • You will drive in-year performance management against the annual plan, including monthly and quarterly reporting of actuals vs. targets, root-cause analysis of underperformance, and proactive course correction alongside general managers
  • You will build operational scoreboards and KPI dashboards that create accountability and real-time visibility across factories
  • You will partner with the CFO and executive leadership team to templatize and institutionalize Amca’s annual planning process across current and future factories
  • You will develop scalable planning frameworks, operating cadences, and reporting structures that can be rapidly deployed across our new factories
  • You will help build Amca’s strategic finance function from the ground up, establishing best practices for budgeting, forecasting, KPI tracking, capital allocation, and performance management in a highly acquisitive environment
  • You will support broader corporate initiatives including factory integration, scenario planning, board and investor reporting, and long-term value creation planning
  • You will identify process, systems, and analytical infrastructure improvements that increase speed, precision, and decision-making quality across the organization
  • You will serve as a force multiplier for Amca leadership by connecting strategic priorities to factory-level financial execution and ensuring the business remains rigorously focused on the highest-value opportunities

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of work experience with demonstrated success in a high-pressure, analytically rigorous role – strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, private equity, or operational finance
  • Exceptional financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and operational analytics capabilities – you build models that drive decisions, not just decks
  • Deep understanding of value creation levers in industrial, manufacturing, or aerospace businesses preferred
  • Ability to synthesize complex operational and financial data into actionable insights and communicate them clearly to operators and executives
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with operators and executive leadership – you earn trust through quality of work and follow-through, not just seniority
  • Ability to build repeatable systems and scalable frameworks in high-growth, multi-entity environments
  • Combination ability to execute on a tactical level as well as develop strategy to solve complex, cross-functional problems. You are comfortable diving deep into a factory P&L while also zooming out to shape Amca’s enterprise planning architecture
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills – clear, concise, and compelling. You drive conviction through grounded arguments and can translate complex financial concepts for non-finance audiences
  • Highly proficient in Excel and other analytical tools; experience with financial reporting and ERP systems a plus
  • High ownership with the ability to juggle multiple large projects in parallel at a rapid pace without dropping balls
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment and excited by a large breadth of problems
  • Humble attitude, relentless work ethic, and passion for solving hard problems

Annual Salary Range

$150,000 - $250,000 USD
