About the role

An Operational Excellence IT Trainer (OPEX) drives, designs, and delivers training programs to improve IT operational efficiency, standardizing best practices, and embedding continuous improvement (e.g., Lean/Agile/ITIL) into daily workflows. They bridge the gap between technical processes and staff capability, using data to enhance performance, ensure compliance, and upskill employees in technical tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design and facilitate instructor-led IT training, e-learning, and remote workshops associated with onboarding of new customers and new Computacenter operational managers and onsite support staff.
  • Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operational Service Manuals for new and existing Computacenter customers.
  • Monitor KPIs and operational metrics to identify training gaps and improve workflows.
  • Complete Onsite Support performance scorecards and share results with managers for their review with their direct reports.
  • Drive adoption of new technologies and systems across teams.
  • Coach teams on best practices, acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to mentor technical staff.
  • Partner with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values.

Requirements

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • 3-5 years in IT operations, technical training, or continuous improvement roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, Engineering, related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficiency in process improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma), ITIL frameworks, and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Preferred certifications include Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), ITIL, or Certified Professional in Training and Development (CPTD).
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, software, and data analysis tools.
  • Good knowledge and experience of SAP, MS Office and MS Teams
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strategic thinking and tactical execution skills
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and coaching skills
  • Good knowledge of the IT industry and an understanding of IT technologies and products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable communicating with colleagues in different countries where English is not the first spoken language
  • Good self-organization and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple requests simultaneously
  • Can build trust, be assertive when required and shows initiative and enthusiasm
  • Resilience, and able to deal with stressful situations
  • Business and financial acumen with strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrate an understanding of product supply chains
