Operation Improvement Engineer
About the role
Micron Idaho Semiconductor Manufacturing (Triton) LLC is seeking a skilled individual to join our team. This position involves optimizing scheduling automation, real-time manufacturing decision-support reporting and analysis, and line management analytics. The role requires adherence to safety and environmental procedures, conducting audits, and collaborating with various departments to improve production metrics.
Responsibilities
- Optimize scheduling automation, real-time manufacturing decision-support reporting and analysis, and line management analytics
- Follow all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
- Perform audits and submit good catches on safety issues
- Collaborate with management to provide data analysis, advanced production web-reports, and develop applications to improve production metrics
- Understand and properly utilize area technical language
- Create and deliver effective presentations
- Lead interdepartmental meetings for simple to complex issues and projects
- Mentor others and clearly articulate complex ideas and issues to a broad audience
- Establish trusting relationships across local and global partner groups
- Participate in or lead global alignment meetings
- Drive improvement solutions that meet the needs of our customers
- Develop a thorough understanding of how process changes in one activity affect the function of other groups
- Collaborate with the Operations team by doing regular rotations in the Remote Operations Center
- Collaborate with Operations Development Engineering teams to address OI cases
- Leverage and share global OI best known methods
- Design and coordinate projects with several different departments
- Identify, innovate, design and lead improvement efforts or special projects related to cycle time reduction, continuous improvement projects, world-wide projects
- Identify project requirements and plan tasks to meet needed dates
- Understand Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) layout including being able to analyze congestion and slow delivery times
- Provide metrics and reporting that drive improving AMHS operation efficiency and delivery times
- Optimize tool-to-tool delivery times and provide on-time delivery
- Deliver pre/post metrics for OI enhancements/changes
- Follow the OI testing cycle (DEV/BETA/PROD) for new software releases to ensure quality implementation
- Apply industrial engineering concepts to line management, scheduling and production planning
- Use analytical tools/data to drive decisions
- Identify optimization opportunities for the fab and implement innovative solutions
- Automate Fab processes to reduce variability and eliminate waste
- Develop, maintain, and improve scheduling and business rules
Requirements
Employer will accept a Master's in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation.
Qualifications
- Experience In Ability to plan, drive and complete data-centric projects effectively
- Database management methods and techniques including proficiency in SQL, Snowflake; APF, Perl, Python, VBA, Javascript, Typescript, HTML, or CSS
- Web development frameworks and technologies including Angular, with experience building responsive and scalable web applications
- Container orchestration and cloud-native platforms such as OpenShift for deploying and managing applications and APIs
- Statistics, data analysis and problem solving
- Manufacturing Science (scheduling, inventory management, and capacity planning)
- Data extraction, analysis, and reporting skills
Skills
- Master's in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, or related field
- 5 years of experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation
- Experience in planning, driving, and completing data-centric projects
- Proficiency in SQL, Snowflake; APF, Perl, Python, VBA, Javascript, Typescript, HTML, or CSS
