Operation Improvement Engineer

About the role

Micron Idaho Semiconductor Manufacturing (Triton) LLC is seeking a skilled individual to join our team. This position involves optimizing scheduling automation, real-time manufacturing decision-support reporting and analysis, and line management analytics. The role requires adherence to safety and environmental procedures, conducting audits, and collaborating with various departments to improve production metrics.

Responsibilities

• Optimize scheduling automation, real-time manufacturing decision-support reporting and analysis, and line management analytics
• Follow all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
• Perform audits and submit good catches on safety issues
• Collaborate with management to provide data analysis, advanced production web-reports, and develop applications to improve production metrics
• Understand and properly utilize area technical language
• Create and deliver effective presentations
• Lead interdepartmental meetings for simple to complex issues and projects
• Mentor others and clearly articulate complex ideas and issues to a broad audience
• Establish trusting relationships across local and global partner groups
• Participate in or lead global alignment meetings
• Drive improvement solutions that meet the needs of our customers
• Develop a thorough understanding of how process changes in one activity affect the function of other groups
• Collaborate with the Operations team by doing regular rotations in the Remote Operations Center
• Collaborate with Operations Development Engineering teams to address OI cases
• Leverage and share global OI best known methods
• Design and coordinate projects with several different departments
• Identify, innovate, design and lead improvement efforts or special projects related to cycle time reduction, continuous improvement projects, world-wide projects
• Identify project requirements and plan tasks to meet needed dates
• Understand Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) layout including being able to analyze congestion and slow delivery times
• Provide metrics and reporting that drive improving AMHS operation efficiency and delivery times
• Optimize tool-to-tool delivery times and provide on-time delivery
• Deliver pre/post metrics for OI enhancements/changes
• Follow the OI testing cycle (DEV/BETA/PROD) for new software releases to ensure quality implementation
• Apply industrial engineering concepts to line management, scheduling and production planning
• Use analytical tools/data to drive decisions
• Identify optimization opportunities for the fab and implement innovative solutions
• Automate Fab processes to reduce variability and eliminate waste
• Develop, maintain, and improve scheduling and business rules

Requirements

Employer will accept a Master's in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation.

Qualifications

• Experience In Ability to plan, drive and complete data-centric projects effectively
• Database management methods and techniques including proficiency in SQL, Snowflake; APF, Perl, Python, VBA, Javascript, Typescript, HTML, or CSS
• Web development frameworks and technologies including Angular, with experience building responsive and scalable web applications
• Container orchestration and cloud-native platforms such as OpenShift for deploying and managing applications and APIs
• Statistics, data analysis and problem solving
• Manufacturing Science (scheduling, inventory management, and capacity planning)
• Data extraction, analysis, and reporting skills

Skills

• Master's in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, or related field
• 5 years of experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation
• Experience in planning, driving, and completing data-centric projects
• Proficiency in SQL, Snowflake; APF, Perl, Python, VBA, Javascript, Typescript, HTML, or CSS
• Experience with web development frameworks and technologies including Angular
• Experience with container orchestration and cloud-native platforms such as OpenShift
• Experience with statistics, data analysis, and problem solving
• Experience with manufacturing science (scheduling, inventory management, and capacity planning)
• Experience with data extraction, analysis, and reporting
