Operating Supervisor (1H) - Engineering and Planning - Distribution Engineering Equipment

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise technicians conducting testing and analysis of distribution system equipment, including transformers, network protectors, capacitor banks, and associated instrumentation.
• Ensure training compliance and foster employee development.
• Plan work and establish schedules to meet goals. Understand and improve work process flow.
• Oversee equipment failure analysis for network transformers and network protectors. Determine root causes of failure, track and trend failure data.
• Work with engineers to develop and improve equipment and maintenance programs to prevent equipment failures.
• Ensure work meets specifications and quality standards of department.
• Communicate effectively with various stakeholders such as Distribution Engineering, Transformer Shop, Technical Service, Field Groups, Supply Chain, and Field Services to prioritize and coordinate work.
• Ensure direct reports work in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Maintain updated operating procedures and engineering specifications as required.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant work experience.
• PREFERRED: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering and 2 years relevant work experience in operating or technical role.
• Must have excellent planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to exercise independent judgment and render sound business decisions.
• Must be detail-oriented, able to work under pressure, and handle multiple concurrent assignments.
• Must be computer proficient. Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
• Must possess strong knowledge of Access, SharePoint, and SQL data structures.
• Must have strong oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to interact with both internal and external customers, support staff, and various levels of management.
• Preferred: Ability to inspire and develop staff, proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc., ability to influence internal and/or external constituents, effective interpersonal skills, demonstrated problem-solving skills.
