Operating Room Tech I - OR - Full Time

About the role

The Operating Room Technician I will assist the Operating Room team members before, during, and after surgical procedures. Key responsibilities include transporting patients and lab products, protecting patient privacy, maintaining supplies and equipment, and assisting with the orientation of new employees.

Responsibilities

• Transporting patients and lab products/specimens to and from the Operating Room (OR).
• Protecting patient privacy and modesty; authorized to access secured storage areas.
• OR equipment/supplies transportation; transports specimens, cafeteria supplies, blood, and other items as assigned.
• Maintaining supplies and equipment; authorized to access secured storage areas.
• Restocking warmers with solutions and blankets, stocking forms and count sheets, etc.
• Aiding with the orientation of new employees.
• Communicating accurately and clearly with the healthcare team when giving reports.
• Decontaminating the operating room after surgical cases.
• Maintaining an acceptable level of cleanliness for anesthesia and OR equipment.

Requirements

• High School Education or GED required.
• Certified in Basic CPR within 6 months of hire.
• No experience required.

Qualifications

• Authorized to access secured storage areas in the performance of essential job functions and duties.
• Accurately communicates with the healthcare team.
• Maintains an acceptable level of cleanliness for anesthesia and OR equipment.

Skills

• Initiative in completing work within areas of responsibility.
