Operating Room RN - Per Diem

About the Role

At Mercy Medical Center, the Operating Room RN delivers safe, high-quality care to surgical patients. This is a per diem, hourly union position with a rotating shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide intraoperative care by performing circulating and/or scrub duties, including patient positioning, site prep, instrumentation, and sterile technique.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient, coordinated care throughout procedures.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing.
• Valid RN license in Massachusetts.
• 1 or more years of intraoperative nursing experience, including circulating and scrub experience (preferred).
• Current BLS/CPR (AHA or Red Cross) (preferred).
• Familiarity with AORN standards (preferred).

Schedule

• Per diem – rotating shifts.
• Commitment of 8 shifts per month, including 1 weekend shift per month (if the weekend shift is not needed, the eighth shift is still required based on unit needs).
• Must work two holidays per year.
• On-call requirement: Must participate in on-call rotation at least once per month, based on unit needs.

Pay

Per diem flat rate: $63.85 per hour.
