Operating Room Radiologic Technologist

About the Role

Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images, including routine, portable, operating room, and fluoroscopic procedures. Position patients, adjust equipment, and explain procedures to ensure high-quality images while minimizing radiation exposure. Assist in training staff and students, participate in quality assurance activities, and maintain safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate radiology equipment to produce diagnostic images
• Position patients and adjust equipment for optimal imaging
• Explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort and cooperation
• Minimize radiation exposure while maintaining image quality
• Assist in training staff and students
• Participate in quality assurance and safety activities
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team
• Provide patient education and document procedures accurately in the Radiology Information System
• Set up and troubleshoot equipment
• Ensure proper room preparation and adhere to safety standards, including radiation protection and PPE use

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of one year of experience
