Operating Room Nurse Manager

About the role

Oversees surgical services, specifically managing the Main Operating Room to ensure quality patient care, staff performance, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manages OR personnel, including hiring, coaching, and performance evaluations.
• Fosters effective communication with surgeons and staff.
• Analyzes OR metrics to improve productivity.
• Collaborates with hospital departments to ensure compliance with regulations such as The Joint Commission.
• Supports staffing and surgical volume planning.
• Maintains a focus on cost-effective and efficient operations.
• Leads and develops OR staff to ensure high standards of professional behavior.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams.
• Analyzes departmental metrics to drive improvements.
• Upholds patient safety and quality standards.
• Supports regulatory compliance and operational goals.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure and BLS certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum one year of supervisory experience.
• Minimum two years of clinical experience in perioperative services.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
• Knowledgeable about perioperative standards and regulatory compliance.
