About the Role

This position provides supervision and support of clinical operations, staff, and all general surgery and procedural Preop/PACU patients at Prisma Health Surgery Center - Patewood, a state-of-the-art outpatient facility specializing in plastic surgery in Greenville, South Carolina. The role involves managing finances and personnel to ensure appropriate allocation of resources while delivering quality patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Provides and facilitates patient-centered care and patient flow, serving as a resource to employees for clinical and managerial support.
  • Promotes and participates in interdisciplinary patient care planning and education.
  • Assesses appropriate level of care for patient population and elevates utilization or care plan issues to leadership as needed.
  • Ensures effective use of resources, equipment, and supplies.
  • Adjusts staffing levels to meet changing workload projections and provide safe, quality patient care.
  • Assists with the development of budgets and ensures targets are met.
  • Serves as a resource to patients, families, physicians, and staff by interpreting policies and facilitating care.
  • Provides departmental leadership through effective communication, problem-solving, and proactive conflict resolution.
  • Hires, leads, mentors, develops, and evaluates staff to promote engagement, productivity, and competencies.
  • Conducts individual and team goal setting, performance planning, and evaluation.
  • Supports change and participates in process improvement and quality management activities.
  • Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
  • Provides excellent service by consistently demonstrating core and leader behaviors.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in nursing, health care, or a related field.
  • Current, valid RN license in the state of practice.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS certification required within 90 days of start date.
  • 1-2 years of experience relevant to the patient population.
  • Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and families.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation agency requirements.
  • Excellent human relations and communication skills.
  • May require a valid driver’s license and eligibility for company auto insurance coverage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
