Overview
Barnes-Jewish Hospital Operating Room Manager Pod 1 is part of a 1500-bed Level 1 trauma center with 13 operating suites. Core services include gynecology, urology, colorectal, MIS, bariatrics, and robotic surgeries. The academic partner is Washington University School of Medicine. The manager oversees a team of 100+ staff members with two Assistant Nurse Managers, Charge Nurses, Resource Nurses, and Staff Educators.

Responsibilities
- Hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, and develops professional development plans for a team of 72+ FTEs or 40+ FTEs.
- Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue, and/or expense budgets.
- Responds to changes in the business affecting budget goals and ensures team compliance with departmental policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
- Promotes customer satisfaction, process indicators, quality improvement plans, and outcomes in the work unit.
- Researches, evaluates, selects, and implements systems to improve efficiency of work unit operations.
- Supports and assists the growth of existing or new business/programs.
Requirements
- Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate's Degree preferred, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Experience: 5-10 years of nursing experience, 2-5 years of supervisor experience.
- Licenses & Certifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
