Job Summary

Responsible for supporting safe, high-quality patient care and assisting with clinical and operational activities in the operating room environment.

Essential Functions

  • Supports a patient- and family-centered care environment through professional, courteous interactions with patients, families, and hospital staff.
  • Provides orientation and general information to patients, visitors, and families regarding hospital services and unit procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of hospital departments, procedural areas, and available patient services to assist patients and visitors effectively.
  • Directs patients, families, and visitors to appropriate resources and services as needed.
  • Independently transports patients and assists with patient transfers while following established safety protocols.
  • Verifies patient identity using two approved patient identifiers.
  • Ensures patient safety and comfort during transport and transfers by utilizing appropriate safety measures, such as raised bedrails and adequate patient coverage.
  • Follows established precautions and procedures when transporting patients with special safety or isolation requirements.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Medical Office/Hospital/Managed Care Experience 0-1 year required and Operating Room Experience 0-1 year preferred
