Operating Room Assistant

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room (OR) for surgical procedures by setting up rooms per procedure preference cards.
• Works closely with co-workers to ensure availability of needed equipment, instruments, OR beds, and stretchers.
• Transports and delivers items, such as equipment, medications (excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy drugs), and specimens throughout the facility.
• Performs low-level disinfection of equipment.
• Assists with transporting patients to the OR holding area, assisting with lifting, positioning, and/or transferring patients as indicated.
• Assists with timely turnover of rooms including cleaning room, removing trash and linen, and removing equipment from room.
• Processes post-surgery case carts when needed, including discarding sharps, emptying suction cannisters, disseminating unused supplies, and sending carts to the Sterile Processing Department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers at time of hire.

Pay

Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience. Hourly Range: $18.27 to $27.40.

Monday-Friday 6:30-3p.
