Operating Engineer III, Physical Plant - Rowan-Virtua SOM (Stratford, NJ)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains, and repairs boilers, turbines, motors, pumps, compressors, blowers, valves, and other auxiliary equipment.
• Maintains the Power Plant at maximum efficiency, ensuring minimum energy consumption.
• Performs periodic tests, takes readings, and adds chemicals as required.
• Ensures compliance with all regulations and maintains a clean, neat work area.
• Inspects equipment and systems regularly and reports conditions to the Manager of Engineering.
• Available for all Power Plant emergencies and completes all paperwork in a timely manner.
• Maintains, logs, records, and files of the Power Plant.
• Gives detailed exchanges of information to relieving operators.
• Continually inspects equipment and learns alternate ways to maintain continuous operation.
• Analyzes problems and takes corrective action as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned throughout the campus, including snow remediation, rounds, resetting breakers, and replacing ceiling tiles.

Qualifications

• A minimum of (2) years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of stationary steam boilers and auxiliary equipment of a Power Plant.
• Must possess a New Jersey Black Seal low-pressure License.
• Valid NJ Driver’s License required.
