About the role
The Operation Engineer I oversees the safe and efficient operations of various mechanical and electrical systems at MultiCare facilities, ensuring that patients and families have a positive experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of gas and electric boilers, HVAC, air compressors, pumps, emergency generators, and auxiliary equipment
- Independent problem solving and attention to detail in maintaining and repairing equipment
- Rounds and inspections of machine rooms and roof areas
- Effective communication with team members
- A service-oriented attitude, professional integrity, and attention to detail
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- City of Tacoma Operating Engineer License (obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Medical gas ASSE 6040 certifications obtained within 18 months of hire
- Minimum six (6) years of experience directly related to operations and maintenance of building mechanical and electrical systems
- Minimum two (2) years of experience with Computer and EMCS (Energy Management Control System)
- Valid Washington State driver's license and proof of a safe driving record
- Completion of Vocational Trade/Tech certification program or Certificate of Licensure in the identified areas
- City of Tacoma Operating Engineer License III required within 12 months of hire
- ASHE Certified Health Care Physical Environment Worker required within 6 months of hire
- On Call Required

Pay and Benefits
