What This Job Involves
This position has a high percentage of wrench time and focuses on general maintenance, repair and inspections of equipment associated with the facility. The individual in this role must be available for call-in work and to perform other duties as required. The candidate must possess the ability to diagnose and repair equipment with minimal use of third-party vendors.
What Your Day-to-day Will Look Like
- Assist in the maintenance and continuous operation for a critical distribution building and systems. All mechanical systems to include but not limited to, dock doors & related equipment, plumbing, electrical, lighting, fire/life safety.
- Additional duties include “general” repairs, minor cosmetic repairs, painting, door hardware.
- Cook with and analyze system data (reliability, calls, etc.) and develop initial recommendations with Chief Engineer on any maintenance changes, upgrades, replacements, etc.
- Provide professional feedback to update preventative maintenance procedures
- Maintain up to date & complete system documentation in a central resource location, for all repairs or changes to the system
- Monitor the operation and make adjustments on chiller, refrigeration, heat exchangers, HVAC, and hot water systems; monitors operation, adjusts, and maintains refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; boilers, and ventilating and hot water heaters; pumps, valves, piping and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment; record readings and make adjustments where necessary to assure proper operation of equipment.
- Requires the ability to analyze the operation of various systems and troubleshoot any problems/malfunctions and perform corrective action as required
- Maintain tools and order supplies as required for installation and repairs
- Identify safety hazards within the building and incorporate the remediation of such hazards to ensure that the building’s staff and occupants work in a safe environment.
- Implement, administer, and manage safety training programs
- Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials and refrigerants
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace
- Knowledge of all building systems and how they function
- Knowledge of maintenance processes
- Performs additional job duties as requested
- Providing customer interface and support
Required Qualifications
- Experience with BMS and CMMS
- High school diploma or state equivalent required
- Two years of related trade schooling or equivalent
Other Qualifications
- Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports
- Completion of written documentation is required

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior knowledge of working within a GMP environment
- Five years of related building maintenance experience
