About the Role
Our client, a leading organization in the facilities management industry, is seeking an Operating Engineer 3 to join their team. As an Operating Engineer 3, you will be part of the facilities operations team supporting building maintenance and engineering operations. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a proactive attitude, and excellent communication skills, which will align successfully in the organization.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot HVAC systems, generators, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), and other building mechanical equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure facility equipment remains in optimal operating condition.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with facility, maintenance, and operations teams to support safe, efficient, and reliable building operations.
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience as an Operating Engineer, Building Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or related role.
- Strong HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair experience.
- Knowledge of generators, ATS systems, and commercial building equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment while following established safety procedures.
Pay & Schedule
- Pay Rate: $35/hr
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
- Assignment Duration: July 27, 2026 – October 10, 2026
- Location: Richardson, TX
