Opérateur(trice) d’extrudeuse

About the role

We are seeking an Extruder Operator to join our production team in Bromont. Reporting to the Production Director, the Extruder Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining extrusion machines to produce recycled plastic materials. The position also involves receiving materials when required and may involve operating a lift truck.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill the extruder according to established parameters, including temperature, pressure, and speed;
• Participate in various production operations such as material silo loading, extrusion support, plastic bagging, etc.;
• Make necessary adjustments during product or color changes;
• Continuously monitor granule quality: density, color, homogeneity;
• Supply the machine with raw materials and monitor production flow;
• Quickly detect anomalies like blockages, unusual noises, or variations in flow rate;
• Perform basic maintenance, such as filter and knife replacements as needed;
• Participate in preventive stops;
• Complete production reports and quality sheets;
• Operate a lift truck;
• Comply strictly with workplace health and safety regulations;
• Maintain a clean work environment and factory;
• Perform other tasks related to the position.

Requirements

• Experience in plastic extrusion is an asset;
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred;
• A valid driver’s license is mandatory;
• Good mechanical aptitude and ability to understand machine operation;
• Sense of observation;
• Reliability, resourcefulness, and autonomy;
• Ability to work in a hot and noisy environment;
• Ability to lift up to 25 kg.

Pay and Schedule

The base salary is $21.50/hour, with a night shift premium of $4.00/hour or a weekend shift premium of $2.00/hour, depending on the shift worked.
