Opening Shift Manager (one weekend day a must)
About the role
A McDonald’s Certified Swing Manager is a trained and certified leader responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts. This role ensures the restaurant operates safely, efficiently, and in full alignment with McDonald’s brand standards, with a strong focus on Quality, Service, and Cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Directs crew members, assigns positions, and manages floor operations to deliver an exceptional customer experience across all channels, including drive-thru, front counter, kiosk, mobile order, and curbside.
- Maintains speed of service, order accuracy, food quality, and hospitality to ensure every guest receives fast, friendly, and accurate service.
- Enforces food safety procedures, proper handwashing, time and temperature controls, equipment maintenance, and cleanliness standards throughout the restaurant.
- Conducts travel paths, ensures critical control points are being followed, and takes immediate corrective action when standards are not met.
- Manages labor deployment to support sales volume while controlling costs.
- Maintains cleanliness standards, monitors waste, completes product counts as required, and protects company assets by following cash-handling and security procedures.
- Trains and coaches crew members on procedures, service behaviors, and brand standards.
- Provides real-time feedback, recognizes strong performance, and addresses performance gaps constructively.
- Creates a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and respect.
- Communicates effectively with the General Manager and other members of the leadership team regarding shift performance, staffing needs, equipment issues, and customer concerns.
- Documents incidents, resolves guest complaints professionally, and ensures follow-up when needed.
Qualifications
The Certified Swing Manager must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Training and certification are provided by McDonald’s. Previous experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment is preferred but not required. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
