About the role
The Department of Radiology at University of Colorado School of Medicine on the Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking applicants for Section Chief of Abdominal Imaging. This is a full-time position at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor level.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the ABD section, providing strategic vision, mentorship, and guidance to faculty, fellows, and staff.
- Oversee the clinical operations of the section, ensuring the highest standards of care in ABD imaging and intervention, including MRI, CT, ultrasound, and radiographs.
- Collaborate with other departments to advance interdisciplinary patient care.
- Manage along with the ABD education lead with the section’s education efforts, supporting ABD fellows and teaching over 40 residents, fostering academic and career development.
- Participate in administrative decision-making, including budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation to support the section’s growth.
- Take a leadership role in recruitment, retention, and professional development of ABD faculty.
Diagnostic and Clinical Responsibilities
- Subspecialty interpretation of abdominal images.
- Weekend call duties shared by all section members, with ABD specialty-specific coverage.
Qualifications
- Total career progression opportunity within ranks is dependent upon rank at entry.
- Assistant Professor: Medical Degree or equivalent Colorado Medical License, ABR certified or eligible, Fellowship Training in Abdominal Imaging.
- Associate Professor: Medical Degree or equivalent Colorado Medical License, ABR certified, Fellowship Training in Abdominal Imaging.
- Professor: Medical Degree or equivalent Colorado Medical License, ABR certified, Fellowship Training in Abdominal Imaging.
