About the role

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of South Florida (USF) is actively recruiting to fill one open academic position within the division of Gynecologic Specialty Services. This board-eligible/certified, fellowship-trained, minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon will join our growing, busy division. Preference will be given to a candidate with academic experience and expertise to help grow the Gyn Specialty Services division and assist with establishing a MIGS fellowship. However, new graduates are also welcome to apply and must be both comfortable and proficient in complex benign gynecology, dedicated to quality patient care, and have an interest in clinical research.

Responsibilities

  • TEACHING: Teach medical student and residents by lecture, rounds, and clinical activity in patient office and the operating suite.
  • Clinical: Provide general gynecologic care, including minimally invasive gynecologic surgery in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • OTHER DUTIES: General administration duties that include documenting and reviewing patient chart.

Qualifications

  • MINIMUM: Doctoral/Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
  • Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
  • For Associate/Full Professor - Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.
  • Candidate must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
  • Candidate must also have completed an AAGL MIGS fellowship.
  • Special attention will be given to graduates of programs with focus on chronic pelvic pain.
  • Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent required.
