Open Rank- Clinical Faculty in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery

Augusta University’s Medical College of Georgia, Department of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery, is seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor to serve as a Urogynecologist.

About the role

The division currently includes one physician, one advanced practice provider (with an additional position pending), and a dedicated, well-trained, and motivated staff. This position is non-tenure track.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care in the clinical and surgical evaluation and management of disorders of the urogenital tract and pelvic floor, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and fecal incontinence, hematuria, and pelvic pain.
• Teaching medical students and residents.
• Collaborating with other departments on clinical research and projects.

Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent clinical and surgical skills, involvement in clinical research, and a strong desire to teach residents and medical students.

Requirements

• MD degree or equivalent.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia.
• Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one.
• Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) or Urology.
• Board certified or board eligible in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS).
• Completion of, or current enrollment in, an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS).
• Demonstrated commitment to research, medical education, and academic scholarship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a commitment to excellent patient care, a strong work ethic, and a team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications by Rank

• Assistant Professor: Early-level career as a faculty member with appropriate post-graduate training.
• Associate Professor: Mid-level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
• Professor: Senior-level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Pay

Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, and is subject to availability of funds. Rank and salary are determined at hire based on experience, education, credentials, specialty, training, and internal equity and market data.
