About the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Binghamton University, established with a $60 million state investment, is housed in a 105,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art building on the Health Sciences Campus. The school enrolled its inaugural PharmD class in 2017 and is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). It offers MS and PhD programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences, launched in 2022, to advance translational, clinical, and outcomes research. About the Role

This full-time, 12-month non-tenure-track position as a Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, or Clinical Associate Professor/Experiential Coordinator offers a dynamic opportunity to coordinate experiential education for Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPE) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPE) across diverse settings, including hospitals, community sites, and other pharmacy environments. The role balances traditional faculty responsibilities with administrative duties in the Office of Experiential Education (OEE).

Responsibilities

• Recruit, develop, and maintain experiential sites and preceptors.
• Deliver education and training for preceptors and practice sites.
• Implement and manage experiential programs, ensuring compliance with ACPE standards.
• Assign and oversee learner placements and their learning experiences.
• Ensure the quality of learner experiences through site visits and evaluations.
• Provide didactic teaching and co-coordinate experiential courses.
• Advise pharmacy students on educational and professional development.
• Contribute to school and university service through committee work and initiatives.
• Collect and assess data for quality assurance and improvement of the experiential program.
• Engage in scholarship and research activities.
• Build and maintain external relationships with valued partners in various pharmacy practice settings.
• Travel to current and prospective experiential sites across the region, including downstate and upstate New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Pharmacy degree, Doctor of Pharmacy degree, or other advanced pharmacy degree.
• Pharmacist licensure or eligibility in the state of New York (licensure required within one year of hire).
• Experience precepting pharmacy learners.
• Experience working with or within an institutional/hospital setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in academia.
• Experience with experiential program administration.
• Completion of post-graduate training (e.g., pharmacy residency, clinical fellowship).
