About the role

The College of Nursing invites applications from accomplished nurse scientists for a tenure-eligible faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor level. We seek a collaborative, innovative leader with a well-established program of research and a strong commitment to advancing nursing science and education.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an active, externally funded research program
  • Publish regularly in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals
  • Submit large-scale extramural grant applications (NIH, HRSA, PCORI, etc.)
  • Teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels based on expertise and program needs
  • Mentor students, postdoctoral fellows and emerging nurse scientists
  • Present research at national and international conferences
  • Provide service to the College, the University, and professional organizations

Requirements

  • Demonstrate evidence of effective teaching ability, commitment to student success, and service to the profession.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex material to students unfamiliar with a subject.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research evidenced by strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Candidates for a tenured appointment should demonstrate intellectual leadership and impact on the field and potential significant contributions to the department, University of Cincinnati, and wider scholarly community.
  • Demonstrate evidence of effective teaching ability, commitment to student success, and service to the profession.
  • Demonstrated history of extramural funding supporting a focused program of research.
  • Outstanding writing skills to present research in written format.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.

Pay

Competitive salary based on experience

Schedule

9-month faculty appointment including teaching across two primary academic semesters with protected research time, which may be increased based on external salary support.
